WEBSTER - Frances I. (Darzenkiewicz) Stolarczyk, 84, of Stoughton Avenue, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, with her family at her side.
She leaves her husband of 61 years, Victor F. Stolarczyk; twin daughters, Judith S. Earls and her husband Dr. Stephen T. Earls of Holden, and Joyce B. Fontaine and her husband Ronald A. Fontaine of Lancaster; a son, Victor K. Stolarczyk and his wife Cathy M. Stolarczyk of Sutton; 9 grandchildren, Stephanie, Bethany, Laurel and Jonathan Earls, Ronald Fontaine and Jamie Delucia, and Rebecca, Maria and James Stolarczyk; 9 great grandchildren, Christian, Monet, Miles, Aria, Aidan, Isabel, Thomas, Joshuah and Julia; a brother, Walter “Peter” Darzenkiewicz of Charlton; 2 sisters, Harriet Stolarczyk of Webster and Genevieve Darzenkiewicz of Southbridge; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Edmund and Frederick Darzenkiewicz and by a sister, Irene Jankowski.
She was born and raised in Southbridge, a daughter of Wladyslaw and Pelagia (Gajewski) Darzenkiewicz, and lived in Webster since her marriage. She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge.
Mrs. Stolarczyk was a telephone operator for New England Telephone & Telegraph; she then was a receptionist at Cranston Print Works Company, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica.
Frances cherished her family. To know her was to experience strength, love, devotion and generosity. She adored her husband Victor and the love between the two of them was remarkable. She will be remembered as an active and smiling grandmother who could play wiffle ball with the best and who enjoyed taking walks and sharing stories. She lived all her days with a sparkle in her eyes and in her heart and made everything she was part of special. She was a gracious hostess: Christmas Eve with “Bumma,” as her grandchildren called her, was an event; she made Sundays over the years warm with food and love: there was always room for everyone. One of her most unforgettable features were her hands – always sewing, cooking or, most of all, reaching out to hold the ones she loved.
The funeral will be held Saturday, October 23, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, October 22, in the funeral home.
