WAKE FOREST, N. C. / COCHITUATE: Dorothy Virginia (Leland) Grenier, 78, died peacefully on October 13, 2010 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Worcester on December 21, 1931 the daughter of the late Burton W. Leland and Mildred (Baker) Leland.
Mrs. Grenier is survived by her children Paul B. Grenier and his partner George Pulver of Denver, CO; Peter C. Grenier and his wife Brenda of Crocker, MO; Patrick D. Grenier and his wife Gina of Sandwich and Virginia D. Grenier of Zebulon, N.C. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Arnold P. Grenier who died in April of 2003. She was the last survivor of nine siblings. She was the Sister of the late Alice Stone, Albert Leland, Doris Smith, Ann Leland, Edna Mason, Robert Leland, Chester Leland and Harry Leland.
Mrs. Grenier had been a resident of Cochituate for over 40 years. She and her husband Arnold retired to Cape Coral, Florida where she resided for 12 years before moving to Wake Forest a year ago.
She and her husband raised their children in Cochituate and she served as a Den Mother for her sons Cub Scout Troops .She also was a cafeteria worker at Happy Hollow School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (OFF Rte 30), Cochituate.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at 9:00 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Zepherins Church, Rte 27, Cochituate.
Interment to follow in the Grenier family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Cochituate.
