Obituary

Rene N. Lafleur, 54, of Pleasant View Avenue in Smithfield, died Thursday, October 14, 2010. He was the husband of Patricia E. (Lucas) Lafleur.

Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Normand and Therese (Montigny) Lafleur. He had been a resident of Lincoln before moving to Smithfield in 1976.

He was a Sales Representative for DeVlieg Bullard and had previously been a plant manager for Precision Turned Component, in Smithfield. He also owned Precision Dental Sales & Service. He was a coach and past secretary for the Smithfield Little League, a coach and founding member of the Girls Division of the Smithfield Youth Soccer League and a member of Haug Hawlers Fishing club.

Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Stefanie Lafleur of Harrisville and his son, Michael Lafleur, of Lincoln, his siblings: Suzette Zukauskas of Ohio and Raymond Lafleur of Virginia and his inlaws; John & Yvonne Lucas. He was the brother of the late Richard and Roger Lafleur.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to SLL Challenger Team, c/o Pat McAssey, 22 Pineridge Drive, Smithfield, RI 02917.
