Salvatore G. “Ted” Catanese, of Londonderry, NH died on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at his home following a period of declining health. Ted was born in New York on November 11, 1931 and had been a resident of Londonderry since 1985. Ted was the founder and owner of Axin Corporation of Pelham, NH. He was an active member of Londonderry United Methodist Church and served as the Treasurer of the Nutfield Heights Senior Center’s Board of Directors.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta (Haines) Catanese, of Londonderry, his children, Ted W. Catanese of Delaware, Richard E. Catanese and his wife Debbie, of Sandown, Stephan Catanese and his wife Charlotte of Paris, ME, and Susan Catanese-Mayo and her husband Ralph of Sandown, his step-sons, Michael Vermillion of Florida and Gary Vermillion and his wife Jody of Londonderry, seven grandchildren, Linda, Abby, Anthony, Philip, David, Jared, and Jonathan, three great grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and Dylan, one brother, Frank Catanese and his wife Margie of New York, one sister Mary Lancia and her husband Rick of New York, one brother-in-law, Frank Widmayer of MA, many nieces and nephews. Ted was pre-deceased by his first wife, Ruth, in 1995 and his sister, Ida Widmayer in 2007.
Calling hours were held Sunday October 17th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Monday at 10:00am in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, corner of Pillsbury Road and Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ted’s memory to the Community Caregivers of Greater Derry, 58 East Broadway, Derry, NH 03038.
