Our precious wife, mother, and grandmother, Nancy Rose Hooker Calloway, passed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, October 13, 2010. She was born April 1, 1929 to Addison and Nora Hooker. Nancy was bestowed with many God-given talents. Whether it be arranging a vase of flowers from her garden, sharing a slice of fresh-baked bread, or singing in the choir; she used these talents to make the world a more beautiful place for the family and friends she held so dear. Left to treasure these memories are her husband of 63 years, Harold Calloway; children Lydia (Jim) Blume, Deborah (Tim) Tuttle, Mike (Gina) Calloway and Joy (Randy) Rutledge; grandchildren Jessica (Patrick) Stump, Clay (Elizabeth) Tuttle, Patrick (Jamie) Blume, Casey (Christy)Tuttle, Michela Calloway, Macy Rutledge, and Ryan Calloway; great-grandchildren Addison, Leighton, Jaden, Ticey, Emery, Lyla, Kaitlyn and Kohl; brothers Addison Jr. (Joyce) Hooker and Charles Hooker; sister Virginia Hooker; and special friend Kim Radford. She was predeceased by sisters Margaret Suttles and Janet Hooker.A funeral service will be held Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in King by Pastor David Childers and Pastor Pete Taylor; a sunset burial service will follow. The family will receive friends at the church upon the conclusion of the funeral services. Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church (725 W. Dalton Road, King, NC 27021) of which she was a faithful member her entire life, King Outreach Ministries (413 Kingsway Dr King, NC 27021) where she spent many hours volunteering, or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home (101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103) who provided peaceful comfort to her in this final journey home.
