John S. Glidewell age 62 of Metamora passed away at 4:30pm Monday Oct. 11, 2010.
He was born February 9, 1948 in Morris, Illinois to William S. and Denise (Gosson) Glidewell.
Surviving are one sister Marcia (Lindsey) Scott, and one brother Michael (Kristine) Glidewell both of Lake Wales, Florida. Also surviving are three nephews, one niece, and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
John served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War from 1966-1972. Worked for McCulloughs Disposal and Kennel Trucking both in Metamora for many years.
A memorial service will be at 1:00pm Sunday Oct. 17, 2010 at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Rev. Robert DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial of Ashes will follow services at Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #89. Memorials may be given to Hands of Love.
