Tilton-----Kenneth M. Cunliffe, 90, formerly of 101 Lake Breeze Park, Gilford, died at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Home on Sunday, October 10, 2010. He was the widower of Eleanor (Eastman) Cunliffe, who died in 2001.
Mr. Cunliffe was born July 6, 1920 in Houlton, Maine, the son of Jarvis W. and Leona (Spooner) Cunliffe. He was raised in Houlton, Maine and moved to the Lakes Region in 1938.
Mr. Cunliffe served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He had been employed at Goodwin Paper Co. in Laconia for thirty years before retiring in 1982.
Mr. Cunliffe was a Past Master of the Mount Lebanon Lodge No. 32, F. & A.M., a 32 Degree Mason and a member and past Chief Steward of the Bektash Temple. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post # 1670.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Hastings, of Topsham, Maine and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Burial was held in the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
