Joan A. (McAndrew) Keenan 76, of Franklin, and a former resident of West Roxbury, died Tuesday October 12, 2010 following an illness. She was the wife of Paul E. Keenan.
Born in Boston May 28, 1934, a daughter of the late William H. & Anne (Connor) McAndrew, she had been a resident of Franklin for over 40 years.
Mrs. Keenan was educated in the Roslindale section of Boston, and was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. In addition to taking care of her family, she worked at the former Star Market in Franklin, and for many years, was a crossing guard at the Davis Thayer School.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and was a member of the Wicky-Wacks group in Boston.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by 2 sons; Richard F. Keenan and his wife Laurie of Whitinsville, William E. Keenan and his wife Lori of Corona, California, 2 daughters; Kathleen M. Morrison & her husband Robert of Whitinsville and Janet T. Valentine and her husband Jay of Rochester, New York & a brother Jerome McAndrew of West Roxbury.
Also surviving are her grandchildren Ariana, Connor, Matthew, Taylor, & Michael Keenan, Hannah & Luke Morrison and Michael & Nicholas Valentine, and many nieces & nephews.
She was the sister of the late William, Robert, & Paul McAndrew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday October 16th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, (www.oterifuneralhome.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
