Robert E. Gray, 81, of Lawrence died on Sunday October 10, 2010 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill. Bob was born in Andover and raised and educated in Lawrence. He has lived in Lawrence all of his life. Before retirement, he worked for over 40 years as a painter for Ray Kennedy Painting of Lawrence. He later worked as a painter at Wang Labs of Tewksbury. Bob Attended Grace Episcopal Church, Lawrence. He loved gardening, bowling and spending time at his summer home in York, Maine.
His family members include his wife, Joyce (Kew) Gray of Lawrence and his son, Robert J. and his wife, Deborah A. Gray of Haverhill and his daughters, Beverly J. and her husband, George Homsey of Montville, CT and Lisa E. and her husband, Michael Joaquin of Haverhill. He also leaves his grandchildren, Barbara, Pauline, Anthony, Robbie, Matthew, Amanda and Jillian and 1 great grandson, Mark and and his brother-in-law, Elmer Mills of West Malbourne, Fl and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Thursday October 14, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be on Friday October 15 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andobver.
