WAYLAND: Linda Jean Hodgetts Goddard, 50, died peacefully on October 9, 2010, surrounded by her family in Wayland after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born on August 31, 1960 in Manhasset, NY, the daughter of Nancy Daughan of Marlborough and George Hodgetts and his wife Mary of Sudbury.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her children Peter Ross Goddard, Jesse Goddard and Michael Goddard, all of Wayland. She was the sister of Dianne Bladon of Wayland, Stephen Hodgetts of Sudbury and Amy Covington of Bluffton, SC. She was the sister-in-law of John Bladon, Mary Hodgetts, and Jason Covington. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda grew up in West Boylston. She graduated from Monroe Academy in Forsyth, GA in 1978. She attended the Art Institute of Atlanta, receiving an Associate in Art degree in 1980. In 1981 she came to Boston and lived in Sudbury and Waltham. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College in 1989. She worked as a software engineer at Raytheon in Wayland, Sudbury and Marlborough from 1982 to 2001, and then joined Tise Design Associates in Newton and worked there until her death.
Her family will receive friends and family on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Bladon residence at 4 Winthrop Place, Wayland. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Anne’s-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 147 Concord Rd, Lincoln. Interment will follow in North Cemetery, Route 27, Wayland.

Linda’s family is grateful for the many caring staff members in the Wayland Public schools for their support of her children.
