WORCESTER___Helen L. Babowitch, 86, of Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Dr., formerly of 76 Everton Ave., died Saturday Dec. 6 in Christopher House.
She leaves a sister, Antoinette Goblaskas of Northboro; her longtime companion, Charles Fitzgerald of Worcester; and nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter Babowitch of Grafton and Alexander Babowitch of Dennis. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Alexander and Agnes (Sinkevitch) Babowitch and had lived here all her life.
Miss Babowitch was a floor lady more than 25 years for Worcester Knitting Co., and retired in 1993. She was educated in Worcester schools. She was a member of St. Casimir’s Church, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the AARP. Miss Babowitch enjoyed gardening.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday Dec. 10 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 12:30 P.M. in St. Casimir’s Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday Dec. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m.
