Roy E. Dexter, Sr., 90, of Wildwood, FL, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010, in the Cornerstone Hospice in Sumterville, FL. He was born in Derry, NH on December 27, 1919, a son of the late Edgar H. and B. Cora (Twiss) Dexter, and had been a resident of Wildwood for the past 29 years, formerly living in Derry. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1937. Mr. Dexter was a US Army Air Corp veteran serving during WWII, and was a life member of the VFW Post #1617 in Derry.
He is survived by three daughters, Claradell Anderson of Orr's Island, ME, Lauren Baker of New Canaan, CT, and Sharon Tower of Deerfield, NH, one son, Roy E. Dexter, Jr. of Derry, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, as well as one sister, Dorothy Whittemore of Derry. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence P. (Kessler) Dexter, and two brothers, Harold and Donald.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 23rd at 11:00am in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
