WORCESTER-Victoria (Hondropoulos) Cipas, 84, of Worcester, died Monday, October 11th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband of 50 years George Cipas died in 1986. She leaves two daughters, Katina and her husband Konstantinos Boras and Barbara and her husband Evangelos K. Sokos, all of Worcester; four grandchildren, Christina and her husband Paul Papalilo of Worcester, Marlo wife of Billy Tsiramanes of Holden, Konstandinos “Dean” Sokos and his wife Jami of Paxton and George Boras and his wife Tamara of Blackstone and seven great-grandchildren.
She was born in Istanbul, Turkey the daughter of Savas and Katina (Kalin) Hondropoulos, and came to this country in 1957, moving to Worcester in 1960. Mrs. Cipas had worked as a seamstress for several local companies retiring from Hawthorne Sportswear. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral; it’s Seniors Group, the Ladies Philoptochos Society, the Pan Epirotic Society and was a long time volunteer at the Cathedral’s Greek Festivals.
The funeral is Thursday, October 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, October 13th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
