Lydia Balduf, a lifelong resident of Walpole died peacefully on October 11 at the age of 97.
She was born on March 6, 1913, the daughter of the late Fred and Lillis (Darrow) Balduf, she graduated from Walpole High School in 1931 and worked for the Kendall Mills Company for many years.
She loved her Red Sox and enjoyed travelling, flowers and birds. To celebrate her 87th birthday, Lydia fulfilled a lifelong ambition when she took a ride on a hot air balloon with her devoted nephew Fred Balduf.
She would do anything for her family, including the adoption of her brother’s five young children when both parents passed away.
Lydia is survived by her sisters, Frieda Giandomenico and her husband Albert of Walpole and Dorothy Kleimola and her husband William of East Walpole.
She was the sister of the late Alma, Jenny, Elsie, Evelyn, Lillian, Lawrence, Alfred, Morton and Ellsworth.
She also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, October 15 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
