Obituary

Hanley E. Hill Jr. of Brockton, passed away Tuesday December 2,2003, after an extended illness, under the care of Old Colony Hospice, at the home of his daughter, in Mansfield,MA, He was 73 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie (Picciuto) Hill.

Born October 12, 1930, in Brockton,MA, he was the son of the late Mr. Hanley E. Hill Sr. and Mrs. Leelah Danforth.

He attended Brockton Public Schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.

After serving his country, Mr. Hill opened his own business, J&H Services Co. of Abington,MA. He was an accomplished mechanic and was previously employed by the former Interstate Coach Co. of Stoughton,MA for several years.

He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and dancing.

He was an avid train collector and loved to solve puzzles of all types.

He was a member of both the VFW and American Legion Posts in Abington,MA.

He was a "Handyman"

He is survived by his children: Patricia G. Hill of Mansfield, MA and Stephan H. Hill of Brockton,MA. 2 brothers: Charlie Danforth, of Raynham,MA and Robert C. Hill of Florida.2 sisters: Shirley Anderson of Georgia and Claire Shourd of North Carolina. Also survived by 4 grandchildren , 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Also his special care-taker Joy L. Johnson of Norton,MA.

His Funeral Service and Burial will be Private. Should friends desire: donations in Hanley’s name may be made to the Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terrace, Stoughton,MA 02072. Arrangements are by the Sheehan Funeral Home, Stoughton.
