Sara (Mullins) Sparrow, 75, of Westport, formerly of New Bedford, died Saturday December 6, 2003 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Richard Sparrow.
Born in Fox Harbour, Newfoundland, the daughter of the late Patrick and Ellen (Griffin) Mullins, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Westport 4 years ago.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Sparrow and his wife Joan of Fairhaven; 3 daughters, Mary Ellen Tauscher and her husband John of Andover, Elizabeth Chrisman and her husband Andrew of Plymouth, and Kathleen Schneider and her husband John of Westport; a brother, Peter Mullins of Newfoundland; 3 sisters, her twin, Nora Rose, and Rebecca Murray, both of Newfoundland, and Mary Bruce of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Brett Schneider, Jessica Chrisman, Ian Tauscher, Evan Tauscher, and Hayden Tauscher; and nieces and nephews.She was the grandmother of the late Ellen Schneider and sister of the late Bridget Murray.
