Taunton – José M. deSousa, a long time Taunton resident, died October 6th 2010 at Morton Hospital Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 58 years of age. He was the loving husband of Maria C. (Pereiria) DeSousa of Taunton. Mr. deSousa was born in São Miguel, Açores. He was the son of the late Jeremias DeSousa and Alice (Baptista) DeSousa. He worked for Wallaxton Alloy Company as a core maker. He was a member of St. Andrews Church in Taunton. He was also a member of the Taunton Eagles Soccer Club. He enjoyed soccer, hunting, fishing and he loved birds. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph DeSousa and his wife Jennifer of Taunton and Paul DeSousa and his wife Sandra of Franklin, Ma. He was also the loving grandfather of Kalvin Talore DeSousa. He is survived by four sisters, Mary Isabel Reaves of Taunton, Maria DeSousa of Taunton, Sara DeSousa of Taunton, and AnaPaula DeSousa of Taunton. He also survived by his Tia Evangelina V. Coelho of Taunton. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. His funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 am at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrews Church at 10:30 am in Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Sunday at 4-8 pm. Burial at St. Josephs Cemetery.
