Maria A. Carreiro, age 90, of Fall River, passed away Oct. 8, 2010. She was the wife of the late Manuel Vieira. Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Francisco & Rosa de Jesus (Cabral) Carreiro. Prior to retiring, Maria was a Presser for the former Chesterfield Co. in Fall River and she was a past parishioner of Espirito Santo Church & St. John of God Church.
She is survived by her 8 children: Manuel Frizado of Montreal, Antonio Frizado & Fernando Vieira both of Fall River, Maria Vieira of Swansea, Angie Carvalho & Eduarda Soares both of Fall River, Auxiliadora Vieira of Swansea, and Lenore Silva of Rehoboth. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late Agostinho Vieira & Edmundo Frizado and the sister of the late Jose, Francisco, Manuel, & Jacinto Carreiro, Maria dos Santos, Maria Jose, Gloria, Amelia, Alexandrinha, & Beatriz Carreiro.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River TUESDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-9 P.M.
