Obituary

MIDDLEBORO – Mary H. (Silva) Dwyer, wife of the late Norris S. Dwyer, died at the home of her daughter after a period of failing health, surrounded by her family on October 8, 2010.
She was 99.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary (Perry) Silva.
Educated in Taunton Schools, Mrs. Dwyer was employed as a cafeteria worker for many years at the Lillie B. Merrill School in Raynham, retiring at the age of 65.
For many years she taught sewing to 4-H girls.
She also did seamstress work and loved gardening, crocheting, knitting and enjoyed doing her own home improvement projects.
Mrs. Dwyer was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Raynham.
She leaves two daughters, Norrine M. Carlson and her husband Carl of Middleboro, and Jeanette I. Holmes and her husband Harold of Raynham; four grandchildren, Jennifer Holmes of Stoughton, Jon Carlson of Lynn, Douglas Carlson and his wife Ana of Taunton, and Janell Holmes of Bridgewater; two great grandchildren, Daniel and Jeffrey Carlson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late William, Joaquin, Francis and Louis Silva.
Funeral Serviecs will be held at the First Baptist Church, 494 Church St. Raynham on Wednesday Oct. 13th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Oct. 12th from 4 to 7 p.m.
