Obituary

Roland Henneberger, 56 died peacefully at home on October 7th surrounded by his family. Born in Germany, Roland’s family moved to New York when he was two. His family later moved to Norwich, Vermont. Roland graduated from Hanover High School in Hanover, NH and received a BA from the University of Vermont. He also spent one summer at Middlebury College Language School studying Mandarin Chinese followed by a year abroad in Taipei, Taiwan. Roland received a Masters at the University of British Columbia in modern Chinese Literature. After living and working in Taiwan Roland moved back to New England eventually joining Mercer Management Consulting in the Transportation group until 2001. Most recently Roland was a Principal with Norbridge Inc. of Concord MA where he was always the first person to arrive in the morning and will be remembered for his ability to impart a supportive word or provide a humorous anecdote to his colleagues.

Roland was known in the Manchester community for his involvement with Little League Baseball – running the canteen and helping to coach. For many years he also helped with setting up the field and uniforming the Junior Hornets Football program. He was also a strong supporter of The Governor’s Academy Cross Country Team – pitching in where needed and cheering on the runners. He was devoted to his two corgis and could often be found walking them on Singing Beach or at the Manchester Yacht Club after ushering at St. John’s Church in Beverly Farms on Sundays.

Roland leaves his parents Henry and Elisabeth Henneberger of Norwich Vermont, his wife of 22 years, Louisa Mackintosh of Manchester and two sons Ian Henneberger and Luke Henneberger both of Manchester plus relatives in Germany and New York and in- laws in North Carolina and Spain.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on October 23, 2010 in St John’s Episcopal Church, 705 Hale Street in Beverly Farms. Burial will be private. Donations in Roland’s memory may be made to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. 01930
