Chris Landry of Provincetown died September 23, 2010 after a long illness. He was the son of the late Charles and Arlene (White) Landry. Chris was raised in Provincetown and attended Provincetown schools. Upon graduation from Provincetown High School, Chris joined the Army and served during the Vietnam War. He remained a life long, and proud member of the Lewis A. Young American Legion Post #1348 of Provincetown. Chris was able to bridge many populations in Provincetown and was a good and loyal friend to those to which he was close. He was known for his willingness to pitch in and help local businesses with labor when needed. His love of celebrations was evident in his many dinner parties thrown for friends over the years as well as his choosing of huge Christmas trees which he would decorate to the nines and take great pride in displaying in his home. Chris loved to laugh and was an upbeat and important member of the Provincetown community. We have truly lost a Provincetown original. He is survived by his brother Glen Landry of Provincetown and another brother Bruce of Connecticut. He also leaves numerous friends and loved ones. A graveside service was held at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday morning at 11:00AM. A celebration of Chris’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gately – McHoul Funeral Home of Provincetown.
