Obituary

Arthur P. "Archie" Brodeur, 82, of Rochester died October 5, 2010 at home after a period of declining health.
He was the former husband of Barbara (Tetreault) Brodeur.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Philip H. Brodeur, Jr. and Dolores Brodeur, he lived in Rochester most of his life.
He was the dedicated proprietor of Archie's Cycle for 50 years. He looked forward to going to work everyday until his passing.
Archie was a member and past president of the Acushnet Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal and the Philippine Independence ribbon.
Archie enjoyed spending time with his daughter and granddaughters, gourmet cooking, smoking fine cigars and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his former wife; his daughter, Karen Dugan and her husband James of Fairhaven; 2 granddaughters, Nicole Bottiglieri and her husband Christopher and Amanda Sousa; a brother-in-law, Ralph Whittemore of Mashpee; several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Florence Whittemore and Philip H. Brodeur, III and the brother-in-law of the late Alice Brodeur.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Saturday, October 9th at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church, New Bedford at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, October 8th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Acushnet Lions Club M.L.E.R.
