Schierloh, Ann Marion (nee) Appleton of Oradell and Normandy Beach died Monday, October 4, 2010. She was born on January 30, 1933 in Montclair to Frederick and Janet (McCracken) Appleton. Ann was a graduate of Montclair High School and Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA. She graduated from Bucknell in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was also a member of the Phi Beta Phi Sorority. After college, Ann graduated from Katherine Gibbs and worked for Standard Oil at Rockerfeller Plaza in New York City. Ann was an active member of the Oradell Reformed Church where she sang in the choir for over forty years and served on the Consistery. She was also a member of The Hackensack Golf Club and the Normandy Beach Yacht Club. She enjoyed her summers with her family at the shore, reading, music, and needlework. She is predeceased by her parents Frederick P. and Janet McCracken Appleton, a brother Robert and her husband of 52 years, James E. Schierloh. Ann is survived by her son John and daughter-in-law Blanche (Costa) of Hackensack; daughter Janet and son-in-law Reese Howard of Clinton Township; daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) and son-in-law Jason Maltby of Chatham. She was the proud grandmother of Annie, Tim, Sean, Megan and James. She is also survived by her brother Fred and sister-in-law Bobbie. A memorial service will be held at the Reformed Church of Oradell at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 9th. Interment will be private.
