Bristol-----George N. McKay, 69, of 105 Pemigewasset Shores Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Saturday, October 2, 2010.
Mr. McKay was born May 7, 1941 in Champaign, Illinois, the son of Nancy McKay Johnson.
He served in the U. S. Air Force during Vietnam. He resided in Tewksbury, Mass. for many years before moving to Bristol, N.H. five years ago. He had been employed at Raytheon.
Mr. McKay was a member of CVRTC, a “putt-putt” train club. He loved watching the birds from his window seat, especially the hummingbirds. He also enjoyed building and operating radio-controlled airplanes.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Madeline “Ricki” (Ward) McKay, of Bristol; son, Troy McKay of Laconia and stepson Anthony Verduga of Dracut, Mass.; a daughter, Shayna McKay, of Bristol; two stepdaughters, Patti Sebilian of Ashland and Betsy Wood of Londonderry; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Wheaton of Tewksbury, Mass. and Maria Johnson of Sanbornton and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Benjamin Johnson.
George has touched the hearts of so many and was loved by everyone.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 5:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home. Pastor Carl Barnard will officiate.
