Hovig, Lawerance J. “Larry”, of Humarock, formerly of Kingston, died at home, Oct. 2, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Rosalie (Brouillard) Spitz-Hovig. Dear father of Melody Carter of Puyallup, WA, Kimberly DeBeaulieu of Warwick, RI and Karry Hovig of Kingman, AZ. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Brother of the late Dr. Dallas Hovig of Portland, OR. Larry was born in Prosser, WA. He was an Associate Regional Director, retired, National Park Service. Larry was a veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Humarock for the past l0 years, formerly of Kingston. Memorial visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., rte. l39, Marshfield, on Thursday, October 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. following visiting hours. Interment will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to National Parks Conservation Association, l300 l9th Street NW, Washington DC 20036 or Hospice of the South Shore, l00 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02l85.
