Jerry Coleman, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, December 4, 2003, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 6, 2003, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with Charlie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M., Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Coleman was born August 20, 1939, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Charlie C. Coleman & Fleta Lovett Cody. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life and was a former resident of Louisville, KY where he worked for an aircraft manufacture. He was an independent building and roofing contractor and a former employee of Rainbow Irrigation. Mr. Coleman was a 1957 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and attended William-Mary College in Virginia. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
Mr. Coleman is survived by: One daughter: Lynn Whitmore, Richmond Hill, GA; One son: Gerald “Butch” Coleman, Huntsville, AL; Six grandsons: Adam, Cody & Dustin Coleman and Trevor, Brandon & Christopher Whitmore; Two sisters: Dot Whatley Branam & Bonnie C. Hester, both of Fitzgerald.
