Mr. Donald L. Govoni, a longtime resident of Brentwood, New Hampshire and former resident of Medford and Somerville, died at the Courtyard Nursing Center in Medford on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. He was 69 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on December 29, 1940, he was the beloved son of the late Edmund and Grace (Sullivan) Govoni. Donald was employed as a driver by Great Bay Limousine Company in Greenland, New Hampshire for several years.
An avid hunter, Donald also enjoyed cooking and trips to Foxwoods. In his spare time he also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Mexico.
He will be missed by his three children; Cheryl L. Thayer of Baker City, Oregon, Mark L. Govoni of Melrose and Scott L. and his wife Beth Govoni of Medford, eleven grandchildren; Samantha, Jennifer, Carly, Stephanie, Brooke, Candra, Sarah, Emily, Scott, Rebecca and Thomas, three great-grandchildren; Sabrina, Calvin and Aeris and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Edmund “Jack” Govoni.
Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday, October 4, 2010, from 6 to 9 PM. Many relatives and Friends were in attendance.
