John L. Bonner 87, of W. Bridgewater September 29, 2010. John was born and raised in PA and was the son of the late Neece and Teresa (Stender) Bonner. Following graduation from high school John enlisted in the Navy and later the Coast Guard from 1942-1966 serving during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After the service he went to work as a clerk for the US Post Office for twenty years and retired in 1986. John was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
He was the husband of the late Angelina (Policronis) and is survived by his children James C. Bonner, BPD Retired of W. Bridgewater and Barbara Volante-Stella of Milford, NH; a sister and brother Sr. Margaret Bonner, OSF and Daniel Bonner and his wife Wilma all of PA; his five grand and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Sunday 2-5pm, followed by a funeral home service Monday at 11am. Burial in Fern Hill Cemetery Hanson.
