In Taunton, September 30, 2010, of Martel Street in Taunton Maria Monteiro wife of Antonio Monteiro died at Wegemere Nursing Home in Taunton at the age of 76. Born and educated in Cape Verde, Maria was the daughter of the late Joao and Amelia Rosario. Maria was the mother of Joao Monteiro of Brockton, Carlos Monteiro of Cape Verde formerly of RI, Gregory Monteiro of Taunton, Bernardete Monteiro of Taunton, Marcelina Monteiro of NJ, Antonia Monteiro of Taunton, Betatrez Monteiro of RI, Angela Monteiro-Cherlot of France and Margareth Monteiro of Cape Verde. Sister of Virginia Santos of Cape Verde and Jose Rosario of Holland. Grandmother of twenty one and great grandmother of three. A service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Saturday, October 2nd at 11 am. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 pm and Saturday from 9-11 am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
