Alfred James Cook 69, of Ashton Ct. Harrisville, died Tuesday at the Philip Hulitar Center. He was the husband of Gloria Marie (Scott) Cook. Mr. Cook was born in Cumberland a son of the late James B. Cook and Ivy (Stockwell) Cook Bastow. He lived most of his life in Cumberland and Lincoln. Mr. Cook was employed in various occupations throughout his life. He belonged to the New Hope Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and leader of the Teen Club, he was also a member of the Choir and Men's Quartet.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Alfred J. Cook and his wife Sandra, of Mapleville, Scott J. Cook and his wife Darlene and Kyle V. Cook and his wife Nicole all of Pascoag, two daughters Veronica R. Bessette and her husband Michael of Harrisville, and Claudia M. Allard and her husband Kevin of Greenville, his step mother Helen Cook of Cumberland, two brothers James Cook of Lincoln and Joseph Cook of Cumberland, two sisters, Janice Wright of Cumberland and Cindy Collins of Middletown and thirteen grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a service in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Cook Cemetery in Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8 PM.
