Obituary


Pauline “Polly” Cumbo Groseclose, 93, formerly of 315 Englewood Lane, Danville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, September 28, 2010, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home. Born April 27, 1917, in Abingdon, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Milton Cumbo and Emma Davis Cumbo. She was first married to the late James Price and later married Charles Groseclose who also predeceased her.
Mrs. Groseclose lived most of her life in Alexandria and Danville and was a retired beautician. She was a charter member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church and a member of White Oak Worship Center and the Gems Ministry.
She is survived by a daughter, Voinda Price Cousins of Danville; two brothers, Sherman Cumbo of Danville and Horace Cumbo of Alexandria and a sister Ann Ewing of Danville. She was predeceased by a grandchild, Virginia Leigh Cousins; four brothers, James Jay Cumbo, Rev. Garnett Cumbo, Ernest Cumbo and Carl Cumbo and four sisters, Geneva Cumbo, Hazel Berry, Bernie Thomas and Myrtle Thomas.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2010, at White Oak Worship Center with Rev. Roger Ewing and Rev Cabel Cobbs officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday evening from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm and at other times will be at the residence, 315 Englewood Lane.
