Eugenia J. LaVerde, passed away tuesday evening, December 2, at the Wingate Nursing Center, in Wilmington following a extended illness, The wife of the late Gaetano, she was ninety-five years old.
Born in Somerville she was the daughter of the late Mary (Salemme) and Joseph Castelucci. She was a lifelong resident of Medford, graduating Medford High school with the class of 1927, she continued her education at Lesley College and received a teaching degree, she later retired from the city of Medford after thirty years of service. She was devoted to her family and in later years enjoyed the company of her friends at the Forever Young Club and Medford Sr. Citizen Club.
Surviving are her daughter Joan Grubb and her husband James, her son Richard G. and his wife Debra. Also nine loving grandchildren and eight loving great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her late husband Gaetano and two brothers Joseph and James Castelucci.
Her funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Saturday, December 6, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Medford/Somerville at 9. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
