Mrs. Emilia F. Pappalardo, of Woburn passed away September 27th, at the Elmhurst Nursing Home in Melrose following a short illness. She was 84 years of age. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Pastore) Ottana. She was the beloved wife of the late Emilio J. Pappalardo and together they shared sixty years of marriage prior to his death last October.
Emilia was mostly a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking and cherished spending time with her family, especially her loving grandchildren. She loved listening to music of the Big Band era and together with her late husband they would go out dancing whenever possible. Emilia was a Woburn resident for many years and was a former member of the South End Italian Club.
In addition to her late husband, she is predeceased by her brother, the late Joseph Ottana, and two sisters, the late Catherine Sabella and Thelma Falzarano. She is survived by her children, Linda Knight and her husband David of Wakefield, Robert Pappalardo and his wife Donna of Reading. She was the loving grandmother of David Pappalardo, Matthew and Jason Knight. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Ottana of Wakefield.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
