Mildred Thompson Cleghorn, 75, of Ocilla died Monday, September 27, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, September 30, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cleghorn was born May 27, 1935 in Fitzgerald to the late LeRoy and Nellie Foxworthy Thompson. She lived in Fitzgerald and Ocilla most of her life and was a former resident of Albany. Mrs. Cleghorn was a former employee of H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and Modern Fibers. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family. Mrs. Cleghorn was a member of the Christian Tabernacle.
She is survived by her children: Danny (Madge) Cleghorn of Fitzgerald, Sandra (Rick) Davenport of Leesburg, Carol (Mike) Dusi of Ocilla, Kathy (Felton) Bentley of Tifton, Sherry (Ricky) Smith of Pavo, Christine Miller of Moultrie, Flo (Chris) Harper and Tommy (Debbie) Newton, all of Fitzgerald; 32 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters: Carrie (Bill) Griffin and Florence (Tommy) Rodgers all of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse D. Cleghorn, 1 son, 1 great grandchild and 2 brothers.
