Obituary

Shrewsbury - Elinor Sybil (Cooke) Bills, 98, formerly of Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 24, 2010, two weeks shy of her 99th birthday. Her husband of more than 55 years, Walter Donald Bills, died in 1988. She leaves two daughters, Beverley B. Clason of Boylston and Judith A. Laine and her husband Peter of New Hampshire; six grandchildren, Kurt Clason, Karin Welsh, Seth Laine, Sara Laine, Jared Laine, and Jason Laine; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Clason, Hannah Laine, Delaney Welsh, and James Thomas Welsh.

Elinor was born in Woburn, MA, daughter of Sybil H. (Vary) and Herbert Harrison Cooke. She was a member of Shrewsbury Congregational Church for many years. She was an antique collector and a garden enthusiast - winning many awards for flower arranging. She was a very independent person.

Her family thanks the staff of Southgate Assisted Living and Overlook Hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to Elinor. A special "thanks" to Vo.

A graveside service and burial of ashes will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Stow, MA, on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 1:00 p.m. The cemetery is off of Forest Avenue.
