WEBSTER – Chester T. Sterczala, Sr., 67, of 25 Eastern Avenue, died Saturday, November 29, after a pine tree in Mount Zion Cemetery fell onto his car while he was driving on Route 12.
He leaves his wife of 35 years, Diane (Barney) Sterczala; 6 sons, Chester T. Sterczala, Jr., of Oxford, Lawrence, Gary, Kevin, Jody and Todd Sterczala, all of Webster; a brother Joseph Sterczala of Florida; 2 sisters, Irene Cournoyer of Thompson Connecticut and Theresa Bishop of Pascoag, Rhode Island; and many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
He was born in Webster, son of Thomas and Michalina (Tokarz) Sterczala and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Bartlett High School.
Mr. Sterczala worked in construction for the Local Union 243 in Auburn for many years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He was a great football enthusiast.
Private graveside services were held in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge Street, Worcester, Massachusetts 01603, or to Saint Joseph School Tuition Aid Program, 47 Whitcomb Street, Webster, Massachusetts 01570.
