Frances M. Murphy, 87 of Boynton Beach Fl passed away peacefully Friday Sept 17, 2010 surrounded by her children. Frances was born in Lawrence Ma. June 2, 1923 and attended Lawrence schools graduating from Lawrence High School in 1940. Frances was also a long time resident of Salem NH. She worked in the banking profession for many years at the Salem Co-Op Bank and at Bay State Bank in Lawrence and continued to work in banking after retiring to Florida in 1977. Upon retirement Fran and “Speed”, her devoted husband of 65 years, traveled extensively across America and Europe. Frances was always ready for a new adventure. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, visiting new places and trying new things, and also spending time with her family and friends. Frances was a devoted and loving mother and her generous nature and infectious laugh will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Frances was predeceased by her husband, Maurice E. “Speed” Murphy. She is survived by her loving children David J. Murphy and his wife Cindy, Diane Desrochers, Maureen Murphy and Edward T. Murphy all of Boynton Beach Fl. Also grandsons, Douglas Desrochers and wife Christy of Raleigh NC, Derek Desrochers and wife Suzanne of Hudson NH and John Guilmet formerly of North Andover, great grandsons Damian, Chase and Benjamin Desrochers as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial mass will be held in Salem, NH in May 2011 at a time and place to be announced followed by interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
