Roy Lee "Buck" Potts, age 60, of Water Valley, MS died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home. He was born April 18, 1950 to Ira Elton "Bill" Potts and Mary Ellen Mixon Potts. Mr. Potts was a retired mechanic. He was a family man and enjoyed his many nephews, nieces and grandchildren. Buck loved gardening and enjoyed his horses and mules. He was a Baptist and a member of the Gold Wing Riders, Chapter P.
Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Driver's Flat Baptist Church in Calhoun County. Services will be held Monday, September 27, 2010 at Driver's Flat Baptist Church at 2 PM with Rev. Johnny Stewart and Rev. Peyton Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Buster Potts, Joe Potts, John Potts, Randy Potts, Clinton Mooney and Michael Snider serving as pallbearers. Gene Hill, Gene Coleman, Carl Massey and Greg Eanes will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Buck is survived by his wife, Helen Potts of Water Valley, MS; his mother, Mary Ellen Potts of Water Valley, MS; two step-daughters, Angie Fillyaw of Water Valley, MS and Susie Fillyaw of Charleston, MS; two step-sons, Jamie Fillyaw and Donald Fillyaw both of Charleston, MS; four sisters, Mary Katherine (Clinton) Mooney of Water Valley, MS, Martha Ruth (Carl) Massey of Banner, MS, Brenda Sue (Michael) Snider of Water Valley, MS and Linda Lou (Greg) Eanes of Brandon, MS; four brothers, Buster (Susie) Potts, Joe (Pat) Potts, John David Potts and Randy Elton Potts all of Water Valley, MS; ten grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Elton "Bill" Potts in 1991.
