Obituary








Belmont-----Maurice I. Bourque, 89, of 575 Brown Hill Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, September 23, 2010.
Mr. Bourque was born June 23, 1921 in Laconia, N.H., the son of Napoleon and Albertine (Chartier) Bourque.
Mr. Bourque served in the U. S. Army Air Force during WWII and had been a resident of Belmont for over fifty years. He was a woodworker for many years.
Mr. Bourque was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #1670 of Laconia, the American Legion Post #58 of Belmont and the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Bourque is survived by his wife of sixty years, Martha (Smith) Bourque of Belmont; two sons, Michael Bourque of Belmont and Mitchell Bourque of Houston, Texas; daughter, Maureen Amell, of Loudon, N.H; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bourque was predeceased by a son, Marshall Bourque, in 2008 and by his five siblings.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, N.H.
Burial will follow at Noon in the family lot in Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Assoc. N.N. E. Chapter, 10 Ferry Street Suite 438, Concord, NH 03301.
