Rene L. Harding, 59, of Fall River died Wednesday September 22, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Theresa R. (Rochon) Harding, who died on June 11, 2010.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George A. and Doris B. (Lapointe) Harding, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life before moving to Fall River in 2000.
Mr. Harding was the proprietor of Grandpa's Accessories in New Bedford. He also owned R & M Treeland and Plow Service.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed CB radios and selling Christmas trees. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Survivors include five children, TSgt. Theodore Tetreault, U.S.A.F. of Las Vegas, NV, TSgt. Robert Tetreault, U.S.A.F., Rene Harding, Jr., and Tara Harding, all of New Bedford, and Chantal Harding of Fall River; five brothers, Eddie Harding, William Harding, Edgar Harding, and Charles Harding, all of New Bedford, and Armand Harding of Acushnet; three sisters, Carol Mendes of New Bedford, Debra Paris of Fairhaven, and Barbara Thibeault of Maine; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Michael G. Harding and the brother of the late Robert Harding, George Harding, Lorraine Harding, Ronald Harding, and Eleanor Cataen.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com
