Mrs. Anna M. (Doolin) Poloczanski, age 89, died Tuesday morning, Sept 21, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, following a brief illness. Born in Boston, Anna was the beloved daughter of the late Anne (Schoen) Doolin & Charles Doolin. A Somerville resident since 1952, Anna was formerly of Roxbury.
Anna and her late husband, Anthony S. "Tony" Poloczanski were married in 1948. They moved to Somerville in 1952. They lived a simple life and loved to summer in Stoddard, NH, where they had a little cottage. Anna worked as a waitress for many years at Symmes Restaurant of Boston, and retired in 1980. She was a member of the Somerville Senior Citizens and St. Raphael Senior Club's.
Anna is survived by her sister-in-law Olga Taylor of Guilford, NH. Loving aunt of Anthony J. Melius Sr. and his wife Patricia of Somerville, Joseph G. Melius and his wife of Maureen of Hampstead, NH, Ann Marie Dodson, her husband Rick, and Gerald A. Melius all of PA.
Loving Nana of Jason Melius and his wife Kim of Reading, Anthony J. Melius Jr. of Somerville, Elaine Melius and Michelle Melius both of NH, and Cammie Melius of Methuen. Loving great Nana of Jacqueline and Julia Melius. Sister of the late Dorothy "Dolly" Melius.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday at 10:30 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 516 High St. Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Saturday morning 8:30 to 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
