Acrie Bray Pierce, 71, of 135 Reuben Court, #3, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at his residence. Born November 8, 1938, in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Bunyan and Lillie Pierce. He worked as a carpenter for John W. Daniels most of his life and was currently employed by Daniel Builders, LLC. Acrie loved to fish and hunt and especially loved to watch his grandchildren play ball.
He is survived by his son, Richard Wayne Dillard (Angela Carter Dillard); his special friend, Ruby Dillard; a sister Patsy Pillow; four brothers, Roger Short, Latin Pierce, Clarence Pierce and Edgar Short and two grandchildren, Katie Marie Dillard and Andrew Richard Dillard.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the home of his son Richard Dillard, 248 Katie Hill Road, Dry Fork, VA.
