FRAMINGHAM: Peter P. Meehan, 61, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sept. 20, 2010 at the Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Somerville on Oct. 13, 1948 the son of the late Peter P. Meehan, Sr. and Phyllis (Faraco) Meehan.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Margaret “Maggie” (Head) Meehan of Framingham. He was the devoted and cherished father of Megan Meehan Joseph and her husband Brian C. of Boulder, CO and Matthew H. Meehan of Austin, TX. He was the beloved brother of Barbara Walsh and her husband Robert and Richard Meehan and his wife Lynne all of Melrose. Also survived by his brother-in-law Jack Parker and his wife Jackie of Boston. He was the brother of the late Phyllis Parker. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Peter has been a resident of Framingham for the last 4 years and previously resided in Southborough for 15 years. He spent his formative years in Somerville was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School in the North End, where he excelled in hockey as a goalie. While at Christopher Columbus HS, Peter was on the winning Bantam National Championship Team that won the title in 1964. He also played hockey while at Harvard College where he graduated. He was an avid golfer, loved to play board games and solve riddles with his family. He enjoyed a good game of chess. He will be fondly remembered as a wonderful and devoted father and a true gentleman. He had a successful career as a business analyst for many years with Alexander Proudfoot in charge of the Southeast Asian area. In 1987 he and his family spent a year living in Malaysia. He was also associated with Brooks International for several years. He was the founder of his own company, The Bantry Group in Southborough, an international consulting company.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
