Jewel C. Baxter Castleberry, 79, Cumberland Furnace, TN, died Monday, September 20, 2010, at Montgomery Care and Rehab Center.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Melvin Brooks and Rev. Patrick Woolsey officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born September 15, 1931 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late William C. Baxter and Ruth Appleton Baxter. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Castleberry, a brother, Joe Baxter, and two sisters, Kathleen Von Heanel and Corrine Epps.
Ms. Castleberry was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Thomas Castleberry (Gretta), Chapmansboro, TN; Glen Castleberry (Judith), Clarksville; Lonnie Castleberry (Carolyn), Clarksville; Ricky Castleberry (Sue), Cunningham, TN; and Benny Castleberry (Cindy), Nashville, TN; one brother, Billy Cheatham Baxter, Charlotte, TN; a sister, Anna Bell Lawson, Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Castleberry (Amelia), Sandra Burney, Carolana Rikard (David), Glenda Lawrence (Jeff), Cynthia Elrod (Shannon), Melissa Brown (Jason), Brittany Svoboda (Shannon), Rusty Castleberry, and Angela Castleberry; and ten great-grandchildren, Dillon and Preston Castleberry, Josie and Grady Lee Rikard, Wesley Lawrence, Cody Elrod, Brady Brown, Garrett Brown, Riley JoAnn Svoboda, and Conner Castleberry.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Class of Mt Zion. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt Zion United Methodist Church, 5875 Highway 48, Cunningham, TN 37052 or to Mt. Zion Cemetery, c/o Barbara McCurdy, 6188 Hodge Rd.
