WORCESTER-Vincent J. Degnan, Jr., 65, of 1028 Ocean Street, Marshfield, formerly of 12 Thayer Street died suddenly Sunday, November 30th in the West Roxbury Veteran’s Hospital. His wife of 31 years, Ann L. (Seery) Degnan died in 1999. He leaves a son Shawn M. Degnan of Worcester, 4 stepdaughters Denise H. McGinley, Debra A. Miller, Kathleen E. Renaud and Michele F. Koller all of Worcester, a brother Paul Degnan of Florida, 2 sisters Paula Cleveland of Florida and Connie Lowney of Worcester, 6 grandchildren, a close companion Kathleen Walsh with whom he lived and several nephews and nieces. A son Vincent J. Degnan, III died in 1969.
He was born in Worcester the son of Vincent J. Degnan, Sr. and Catherine (Hedge) Hipson and graduated from Commerce High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Degnan was a truck driver for Worcester County Air Freight for many years retiring in 2002 and was previously employed at Table Talk Pie Company for over 20 years.
The funeral will be Wednesday, December 3rd with a 10:00 AM graveside service in All Faith Cemetery, 7 Island Road. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Central Mass Homeless Shelter for Veterans, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
