Judith J. (Jenney) Gurney, 69, of Marion died November 30, 2003 unexpectedly at home.
She was the wife of James R. Gurney and daughter of the late Winfield F. and Margaret E. (Murray) Jenney. She was the stepdaughter of Ruth Souza of Mattapoisett.
Mrs. Gurney was born in New Bedford, raised in Mattapoisett and lived in Rochester most of her life before moving to Marion in 1992.
She was member, deacon and lay preacher of the North Rochester Congregational Church.
Mrs. Gurney was a charter member of the Rochester Historical Society and had served many years as the president. She enjoyed tracing her genealogy and compiled and published a book on her family. She enjoyed organizing the annual Jenney family reunion in Plymouth.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Spencer J. Gurney of Franklin, MA; 2 daughters, Lisa J. Walbridge of Rochester and Heather Addison of Washington, DC; a brother, David S. Jenney of Mattapoisett; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the sister of the late Martha Gifford.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at the North Rochester Congregational Church, North Ave., Rochester, Saturday, December 13th, at 11 AM.
Visiting hours are omitted.
Interment private.
