Obituary

Boston – Richard Howland, 59, of Rochester died September 16, 2010 at Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of Beverly T. (Francis) Howland.

Mr. Howland was born in New Bedford, son of Harriet I. (Thompson) Howland of Acushnet and the late William T. Howland, Jr., and resided in Rochester most of his life. He was employed as a truck driver by M & P Corp., Bridgewater. He served as a member of the Rochester Planning Board. He enjoyed cutting firewood.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter: Maggie P. Howland of Rochester; a stepdaughter: Melissa S. Dougall of Rochester; a stepson: John D. Drury IV of Dartmouth; a sister: Marie E. Travers of Acushnet; a brother: Robert Howland, his identical twin; and several nieces & nephews.

He was father of the late Megan T. Howland.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the White Cemetery, Keene Road, E. Freetown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
