WORCESTER-Helen V. (McLean) Wilson, 79, of Beaver Brook Parkway, died Sunday, November 30th in Christopher House of Worcester after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 51 years, Donald P. Wilson, a son Mark J. Wilson of Worcester; a daughter Mary Ellen Pytko wife of Robert of Webster; a sister Margaret Francis of Grafton; a niece Susan Nathan of Grafton and 2 grandnieces.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Luke and Helen (Quarry) McLean and had lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and Worcester State College, receiving her Bachelor of Art Degree in English literature in 1987. Mrs. Wilson was a secretary in the Department of Continuing Education and the personnel office at Worcester State College for many years, retiring in 1990. She was previously employed at Person Monument Company for several years. She was a founding member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church it’s Women’s Guild, Parish Council and a former CCD teacher. She was a member of the Mother’s Guild of Notre Dame Academy. She was a great writer and an avid reader.
The funeral will be Tuesday, December 2nd with a 10:30 AM Mass in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140-1102. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is handling the arrangements.
