
John Berry Jr, of Plymouth formerly of Boston, passed away on September 14th at Beth Israel Hospital at the age of 78. John is survived by his beloved wife Grace (Jolicoeur) of Plymouth and his stepchildren Frances Alger of Plymouth, William Read of Abington, James Read of Hingham, Susan Guthrie of ME, Elizabeth Townsend of ME, John Read and Andrew Read both of Hingham. He also leaves his brother Gerald Berry of Boston, his sister Ann Berry of Boston, 24 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. John was born in Wolfboro, NH and worked as an electrical engineer at Raytheon for over 20 years. John served in the U.S Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict and in the U.S Air Force during Vietnam. He was in the Boy Scouts for 55 years, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Dominican Laiety in Natick and enjoyed stamp collecting. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 20th at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Plymouth at 10 AM followed by burial at Manomet Cemetery in Plymouth. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Sunday September 19th from 2 to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Bonaventure’s Fund for the Needy, P.O Box 996, Manomet, MA 02345.
