Musto Linda, of Dover, formerly of Medfield and Staten Island, NY, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital following a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 27, 1941 in the Bronx, NY to Imre & Gertrude Molnar. At the age of 8, she & her family moved to Staten Island, NY, where she graduated from New Dorp High School cum laude in 1959, and later from Wagner College with a B.A. Degree in French in 1963. After graduation from college, she married her college sweet heart., Joseph Musto, and began her teaching career as a French teacher at Egbert Junior HS in Staten Island.
In 1968, Mrs. Musto moved to Medfield from Staten Island with her husband and two children where they resided for 21 years, when they moved to Dover in 1989. In 1988, she and her husband built their vacation home on Hilton Head Island, SC where they enjoyed many wonderful vacations with their grandchildren, family, and friends.
Linda worked as a legal secretary/paralegal /office manager since 1978 at the law firm currently known as Fryer & O’Brien, P.C. in Dover prior to her illness. In 1990, she obtained a Master of Science Degree in Management from Lesley University, Cambridge while working full-time. She enjoyed working in the legal profession and her thesis was “Marketing Legal Services”, for which she received a special award.
Her interests included family, friends, traveling, theatre, music, gardening and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy to her grandchildren who were the center and joy of her life. She will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew her.
A devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and wife, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Dr. Joseph D. Musto; her son, Douglas J. Musto, and his wife, Eileen Musto, of West Bridgewater; her daughter, Donna L. Musto, of Medfield; her son-in-law, Shawn P. McNeeley, and her five grandchildren; Danielle L. McNeeley, Christina E. McNeeley, Joseph A. McNeeley, Nicholas M. McNeeley, and Thomas J. Musto. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Alan S. Molnar of Queens, New York. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. (RT 16) WELLESLEY on Thursday Sept. 16th from 4-8PM. Funeral Service in the funeral home Friday Sept. 17th at 9:30AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Highland Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St. Boston, MA 02115 specifically for research in head and neck oncology.
